Bee Season

To all the logophiles out there, I highly recommend Bee Season. I was enthralled by that movie and also learned a few words: thanatophidia, oppidan, photophygous, toolach, abiogenist and catastasis. The irony, though, is that many of these words were mispronounced in the movie (fotoFygus instead of the correct foTAHfigus, abbiAhjunist instead of the correct aybiAHjunist). Didn't they think someone like me would actually take the trouble to check those words? No wonder many of the Spelling Bee participants were disqualified. How can you spell a word if it's being mispronounced on national television?
