While reiterating his party's opposition to feudalism, the communist leader claimed to be "fighting for a capitalist mode of production," with the aim "to give more profit to the capitalists and industrialists".
May I be skeptical? Upon reading the article, I couldn’t help thinking about the famous Long Telegram by George Kennan. The relevant excerpt:
It must inevitably be assumed in Moscow that the aims of the capitalist world are antagonistic to the Soviet regime, and therefore to the interests of the peoples it controls. If the Soviet government occasionally sets it signature to documents which would indicate the contrary, this is to be regarded as a tactical maneuver permissible in dealing with the enemy (who is without honor) and should be taken in the spirit of caveat emptor.
The propensity of the communist oligarchy to self-dealing ideological obstacles notwithstanding is purportedly a worldwide phenomenon, though.
