De after numbers
This Catalan sentence Ja deu fer més de 700 anys que el català és la llengua pròpia de les Balears i -després de més de 250 de prohibicions- en fa quasi 30 que ha recuperat la consideració de llengua oficial a diversos territoris de l'Estat reminded me that Romanian routinely uses the preposition de after numbers from 20 on, as un elev (one student), doi elevi (two students), but douăzeci de elevi (twenty students). I wonder who decided that 20 would be the starting point for the use of the preposition de.
