Smooth

Even though English smooth has a voiced th, Japanese borrowed it with both a voiceless th and turned it into sumuusu (スムース) and with a voiced th and transformed it into sumuuzu (スムーズ）as Japanese doesn't have either the voiced or the voiceless th. It looks like the person that first transcribed smooth as スムース didn't know enough English.
