Bolsista

I just found out that in Mexico pickpockets are called bolsistas (the general Spanish word seems to be carterista). The funny thing is that bolsista in Portuguese means a scholar (sense 3). It would be funny to hear in Mexico Fui atacado por un bolsista, which a Portuguese speaker would interpret it as someone being attacked by a scholar.
